"Burial Cave"
Subterranean hypogeum of approximately
circular plan with a very deteriorated entrance
corridor.
It is not strange to find burial hypogeums
of this type around the greatest towns, although it was more
usual, at least between the 5th and 3rd centuries B.C., to
incinerate in lime the cadavers or to deposit them in wooden
barrows in hypogeums grouped in the ravines of the interior
or in the cliffs of the coast.
