THE "HABITABLE NAVETAS"

DESCRIPTION
Sa Cova des Moro

Also known with the name of "navetiforms", they are dwellings (in their interior, blazes and remains of food have been found) of plan with form of lengthened horseshoe, sometimes lightly "strangled" in the entrance. Their walls, double with the intermediate space replenished with earth and stones of small size, rise from a base formed by a baseboard of big blocks that lean on the rock, blocks above which smaller stones seem to go toward a vault based on the approach of layers, a false partial vault that remembers that one of the better conserved "burial navetas", as, for example, the one of "Es Tudons", and, certainly, the hull, face down, of a ship (hence anyone of the two denominations with which they have been baptized).

Isolated amid the fields or in groupings that seem to form primitive towns, and that maybe they are not more than structures a little more complex (that a simple "naveta") organized with different areas, the specialists believe that they are the typical unifamiliar habitat of the pretalayotic time in the western Minorca.
