TORRELLAFUDA
(Walls)
Wall of Torrellafuda

LOCATION:

Situation

To some hundreds of meters behind the house of Son Sintes, to which you will accede for a deviation that is to the left of the Maó-Ciutadella highway about 300 m beyond the kilometer 37 (in the direction of the second mentioned town).

MUNICIPAL DISTRICT:

Ciutadella.

DESCRIPTION:

The curtain conserved, of a hundred of meters, is to the south of the town and it is clearly visible, in spite of the vegetation, to the other end of the esplanade dominated by the talayot and the taula precinct.

With a bond formed by stones of small and medium size in dry (very different to the one of "Son Catlar"), its height is considerable, being distinguished up to three doors clearly reinforced intrawalls.

CHRONOLOGY:

By comparison with similar doors on other sites, these seem to be from the Talayotic II (1000-800 B.C.), date that probably correspond to the whole set of the defensive wall in its present state.

NEIGHBOURING MONUMENTS:

Of the rest of the town, very covered by the vegetation, they only emphasize the taula and the talayot mentioned.

Not very far, through the fields, it is the site of "Torre Trencada".
